Alasdair Gray’s Mural for Glasgow Hillhead

FotoCeramic has started printing the transfers for the mural for Glasgow’s Hillhead subway station. The mural using artwork from renowned Scottish artist Alasdair Gray is a depiction of the area around the station. The transfers are digitally printed on a laser printer in sizes up to 29×59 cm and applied to around 100 individually cut Italian porcelain tiles. Each tile is made up of up to 5 transfers which have to be cut and butted up during the application process. The application of the transfers and the firing of the tiles is being carried out in local studios in Glasgow.
