Custom Logos for a Royal Presentation!

Every so often here at FotoCeramic, we discover that our digital ceramic transfers end up on bespoke pieces; but it isn’t every day that they form part of a commission presented to a member of the Royal Family!

Sharon Regan, of Sharon Regan Art, needed a sheet of our decals for an urgent commission, and of course, we duly obliged, ensuring a quick turnaround for her order. Nothing more was thought about it, until we received an email from Sharon, a few weeks later, to express her thanks for FotoCeramic helping her out at such short notice.

Much to our surprise and delight, we discovered that a sculpture she had created, was presented to Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne, The Princess Royal during a recent visit to Northern Ireland by Lakeland Dairies, where she had officially opened a new automated packing facility at the depot in Newtownards.

As a sculptor, Sharon loves the tactile medium of clay as it conveys a sense of strength, yet fragility is present in all of her animal sculptures in particular. To add intricate texture to her work, she mixes a handful of chopped hay to the clay slip, to produce amazing, lifelike sculptures.  For this particular commission, a beautiful horse was created in recognition of the equine interests synonymous with The Princess Royal, an accomplished horsewoman.  As seen in the photo, the sculpture elicits a sense of fragility with the raw quality of the texture, yet it stands robust and physical within its space.
